The Musical and Personal Legacy of William Byron Webster

UN Declaration of Human Rights

a musical setting

William Byron Webster’s lifelong dedication to furthering the cause of Human Rights is personified by his dedicated personal work in the community of East Palo Alto, a lower income ‘island’ in the middle of the wealthy San Franciso Peninsula. His strong belief in Human Rights surely led to his embrace of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights which, together with his dedication to composing great music, motivated him to compose a musical setting for that defining document.
